As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life, sometimes every now and again the clouds part in the way of sunlight shines through.
In these moments, I remember that life is meant to be fun.
You’re meant to enjoy yourself. And everything we do and all our undertakings – be at music, businesses, groups and creative projects – they are our choices.
While it’s great to strive, to achieve, and to try and create these entities… At the end of the day, none of it matters. It’s all a game. And realising this – that all we do and always try to accomplish is not ‘us’, and should not bear any weight upon how we feel about ourselves and who we think we are can help provide some distance from the feelings of in adequate see or stress or frustration.
Who we are – is not what we do. And in this way, if each day you can take a step back and just appreciate life, and this moment, and everything that we have that is not part of the rat race we are taught to participate in. That can make a real difference. It isn’t always easy to do this, and I myself manage to fail spectacularly and often at it. But it can make a difference.
